I've been using this lens for over a year now and it seldom comes off of my camera. I have a number of other lenses but this one covers a wide range of focal lengths while also creating sharp images. I periodically need to take low-light shots and for this vibration reduction works well. Yes, it's a bit heavy but weighs less than the combined weight of the lenses it replaces in my camera bag. Also, because it covers such a range of focal lengths you won't be swapping it out very often and that means fewer opportunities for dust to enter and collect on your camera's sensor. Nikon has really outdone itself with this one.Customer Review: Worth the money

I had purchased this lens wanting something with a larger range, as I couldn't afford to buy 2-3 decent lenses for different ranges, and also wanting the ease of not having to change lenses all the time and potentially be missing pics. As a semi-professional photographer, I love the way it reacts, feels, and responds. Controls are easy to switch around during shooting and unless you are a super telephoto/wide angle freak this lens has a very large range. Love it on my new Nikon D90 and within 3 short photo shoots I am more than pleased and perfectly comfortable with it. Definetely worth the money! Customer Review: ONE LENS

I have a Nikon D40X with two lenses,a 18-55 and a 55-200. I was always
switching lenses for different shots. With the 18-200 VR lens I only
have to take one lens and the sharpness and color are so much better.
For the price and quality of the lens and pictures I would recomend the
Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AF VR to anyone starting out taking pictures.
The VR greatly improves the sharpness of the picture. The AF works very
fast and quiet. Because of the f/3.5-5.6 makes it possible to shoot in
low light and get good pictures. A great lens!

I don't know anything about this product! I bought it for a friend. Now you have my e-mail address and you abuse it real bad. I hope I don't use Amazon again. My trash can is full of Amazon junk!
